Rob Pope

Rob Pope

Rob Pope (Popey) has been a player on the Men's Jets team for several years. After suffering an injury to his achillies and being unable to play in the majority of the 2008-09 season he turned his passion from playing to coaching. After completing his assistant coaching qualification in the summer of 2009 Popey has been an active coach of both the U13 and U17 Jets Junior practices and his enthusiasm for the game is infectious.

Steve Aldridge

Steve Aldridge

Steve completed his assistant coaching qualification over the 2009 summer and asked for a responsibility within the club. He has played for the senior mens team for a number of years and his skill level and knowledge of the game is constantly growing. He has coached the ladies team through various drills and plays (and often joins in too) and provides a pleasant, smiling face when head coach Shorty is being too demanding of his players.
Jason Short

Jason Short

Jason Short (Shorty) was a founder member when the Jets reformed for the 2003-04 season. He has played for the team every season since and has previously played in the National league and represented Great Britain for his university, Marjons, after winning the national title at the European Championships. He was asked to help set up and coach a womens team within the Jets club by a close friend for the 2005-06 season to give ladies the chance to play competitively in the Yeovil area. Shorty has enjoyed the challenge of coaching players of all abilities and the team has grown in strength and numbers but most of all their understanding of the game of basketball.
